Specialising exclusively in cardiac conditions in dogs and cats, I've spent over 15 years helping pet owners and referring vets navigate complex heart disease — from diagnosis to international surgical referral.
MY STORY
A Career Built Around One Speciality
After graduating in 2008 and gaining early clinical experience in Portugal, I pursued advanced training at two leading centres of excellence in the United Kingdom — NKR Veterinary Specialists (2010) and the University of Liverpool (2011).
In 2012, I moved to Switzerland to begin a five-year residency in small animal cardiology at the University of Zurich. During this period, I also completed Modular Certificate Training (Advanced Veterinary Practice in Veterinary Cardiology) at the University of Edinburgh (2017).
In 2018, I obtained EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist status, graduating from the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine – Companion Animals (DipECVIM-CA Cardiology).
Since then, I've worked as a freelance cardiologist, collaborating with specialist clinics in Switzerland and Portugal, and increasingly helping dog owners worldwide navigate complex cardiac surgery referrals through online consultations.
